RUNNERS FOR SATURDAY 26TH OCTOBER AT ELLERSLIE AND FRIDAY 25TH OCTOBER IN SINGAPORE

Hi everyone,

Well this is my first try at putting something on the website so please be gentle with your criticism, but any feedback on improvement would be welcome.

We have a possible four starters on Saturday and we feel they are all chances.

Kaareraway is entered in two races as we have accepted in the 3yo fillies race as well as the Maiden 3yo 1400m. She is well placed in race 1 (12-18pm) and you would think on her form coming into it she would be a nice each way chance. She has been working well and if you have seen her previous runs then you would agree that she is looking for more ground. She ran a good race behind the rising star in Catalyst (Breeders Stakes at Whangarei) and was hampered a touch on the bend. Big striding Makfi filly that will appreciate the Ellerslie track and the sting out of the ground. If she makes the field in the Solioquy, being a black type race, we will look at starting. We have a lot of time for this filly and she will be better as she gets over more ground. I am wee bit biased as i have a share in this filly so will be cheering her home whichever race we decide to run in.

Annie's Song gets a start in the Soliloquy Stakes (race 8 @ 4-34pm), unfortunately she has drawn the outside barrier which makes it tough. She will be ridden quietly from that awful draw but i would not be surprised to see her hitting the line well as long as Michael McNab gets her some clear air. A filly with some ability and we feel she is a black type filly in the making. Big odds at the moment and worth a sneaky $5. I'm sure that owners Terry Archer, Shayne Heape and Gary Hannam will not have a flutter as they abstain from betting for religious reasons.

Dragon Storm was pencilled in to race in the 2400m race at Trentham on saturday but the track was already a heavy 10 at Nomination time with rain to come (now heavy 11) so we changed tack and are now running him in race 4 the Barfoot & Thompson 2100 (2-14pm) at Ellerslie. He is in lovely order and the improved track conditions (hopefully back to dead by race time) will help his cause no end. He went well first up, disliking the heavy track but still holding his ground well. We are hoping for a bold showing from him as he is heading for the NZ Cup at Riccarton.

We are all looking forward to Richie McHorse racing in race 7 the South Auckland Racing Club 1600 @ 3-59pm as he is a favourite in not only our stable but at Trelawny Stud where he is owned. He will have the addition of blinkers which we left off him first up and the track conditions will be to his liking. I think he is a super chance and at the odds of 25-1 a nice each way bet.

We apologise for the long gap in between stories but we will endevour to keep our website up to date with regular and new stories from now on.

We hope you have a wonderful Labour weekend and can back a winner or two.

 Happy punting

Chris Gibbs

Thanks Chris

I will try and add in the Singapore Runners each week.

Race 1 Leo has drawn 12 in the 1000m Poly Class 5 which makes it very difficult. Knocking on the door of a win but no luck with the draw. May be more suited in Malaysia where he would win plenty.

Race 2 Glorious Victory races in the colours of Garry Lui , Eden Park ,  starts in the 1400m Restricted Maiden Long Course  Turf. Is a strong field but is a chance to get some of this although has drawn out a bit at barrier 8. Gods Gift starts in the same race from barrier 10 and is also a chance. Very similar field to the one that Ping Pong won recently with Mr Alejrandro, Strong and Powerful, Meryl and Tobruk performing well behind him. There are others with Poly and trial form that could show up. The one to watch could be Aliceinwonderland who was bred by Stable Owners (Habibi) Heather and Peter Crofskey. The mother ,Timpin,  has left some very nice horses and although  this horse has only had 3 quiet trials might surprise at odds. Difficult betting race with many chances. We are hoping ours  are in the mix but will be tough.

Race 6 sees Whakaaria Mai start from barrier 9 in the Poly Class 5 Mile with top jockey Vlad Duric aboard. Very even field with many chances . Drawn out a bit but he has been looking for a mile and is a good each way bet.

Race 7 sees Ping Pong start from the Ace 1 draw in the 1400m Class 4 Turf LC ridden by Alysha Collett.  Last start winner in a nice field with many chances. Alysha thinks he has improved in his work and we think he's a big chance.

Singapore Results

Race 1 Leo ran 6th. As expected was hard from the draw. Needs a good draw to win next up. Available for sale to Malaysia where he would be very competitive. Ph Donna 82928879.

R2 Gods Gift finished a strong 5th . Drew out a bit and will  benefit from more ground next start. Still learning and a nice horse in the making. Glorious Victory finished 8th and also drew out a bit. Still developing and learning and another that is looking for more ground.

R6 Whakaaria Mai ran a nice 4th from the wide draw and will have benefitted from the run.

R7 Ping Pong finished 8th  after missing the kick when a horse next to him went off in the gates. Another that is still learning but he is a very nice horse in the making.
