STABLE STAR ZABEAT PASSES AWAY AT THE AGE OF 20

Wellington Cup Winner Zabeat has passed away

Very sad news this morning to hear Zabeat has passed away, possibly as the result of a stroke, in his Ruakaka paddock. The 20 Year Old son of Rhythym , out of Zabest was retired to his Ruakaka paddock 13 years ago as a 7 year old. Winner of $623000 he raced twice in the Wellington Cup and won it in 2005, raced in the Brisbane Melbourne Cups, ran second in the Sydney Cup, and finished second and third in Auckland Cups. He had 7 two mile starts and was crowned NZ Champion Stayer 2005.

Owned by Donna Logan and  long time Stable Client and freind, Auckland Real Estate guru , Ashley Goodwin. Ashley is blessed with the luck of the Irish. Every time Donna goes to Karaka to by a horse Ashley is always the first to ask what she has available. Zabeat cost $20000. Ashley has been involved in the ownership of many good horses including Bally Duff, Tavidream and Champion Volkstok'n'barrel.Zabeat was trained at the time by Donna and Dean Logan. Zeb gave us many ,many great racing thrills.

Everyone at Logan Racing will miss having him around, his querky eating habits with cabbage, kumara and potato , and his baby sitting ability in later life.

RIP   Zeb.
