Race 1 Cowleys Hire Maiden 1200m $10000
Laetitia starts from barrier 10 and will be ridden by Ryan Elliot . The 3 year old Don Eduardo filly is owned by Ross Gwyn, JR Collinson, Haunui Bloodstock Ltd, C Feneridis, MJ Longstaff and MG Armstrong.Has had 2 starts for no result but ran a nice 5th at Ruakaka on 9th July after being forced wide and coming home strongly on the line. A chance to get some of this.
Donna Anne Billy starts from barrier 2 and will be ridden by Mark Hills. The 3 year old Tavistock filly is owned by WK and the estate of late PJ Pomare. Ran 9th on debut at Ruakaka on July 9th and needs to show improvement.
Race 2 Face Value Magazine Rating 65 1200m $20000
Gold Rose starts from barrier 9 and will be ridden by Ulrika Holmquist. The 3 year old Pentire filly is owned by GNJ, GR and Est Late N Lethbridge. She won her first start on 9th July at Ruakaka impressively and can finish in the money here.
Taken The Liberty starts from barrier 4 ridden by Zy Nor Aznam. The 4 year old O'Reilly gelding is owned by GW and MW Simon, A Clark and M Scanlon. 16 starts for 2-2-2. Flew home for third at Ruakaka on 9th July after getting away awkwardly. Is due to win. This race is a chance of a stable quinella.
Race 3 Bay Of Islands ITM Rating 85 1200m $25000
In Flight has drawn 7 and will be ridden by Ulrika Holmquist. The 5 year old Fully Fledged gelding is owned by MG Dunn, JA Gibbs MNZM, R Thornley, and EM Tynan. Has drawn 7 and will be ridden by Ulrika Holmquist. 15 starts for 5-3-0 and a last start 6th at Ruakaka on June 6th. He has won at Ruakaka 5 times and will hopefully see Ulrika in the Winners Circle again.
Race 4 Tavistock Syndicate Owners 2YO SW and P 1000m $20000
Barabas starts from barrier 13 and will be ridden by Kelly McCulloch.. The 2 year old Dalghar gelding is owned by H Norcross, Donna Logan, R Beehre, and N Burnside. Won a trial at Cambridge on 10th May. Ran 2nd on debut at Ruakaka on July 9th. Is another strong winning chance for the stable.
Toorak Tower starts from barrier 2 and will be ridden by Michael Coleman. The 2 year old Toorak Toff gelding is owned by Fern Vale Farm Pty Ltd, D Logan and Rosemont Stud Pty Ltd. On debut and has been galloping with Barabas . Toorak Toff progeny are on fire in Australia and it wouldn't be surprising to see the Rosemont colours ,(Volkstok'n'barrel) , in the money. Another stable quinella chance.
Race 5 ITM/Gib Open Handicap 1400m $30000
To Be Sure starts from barrier 4 and will be ridden by Zy Nor Azman. The 6 year old Patapan gelding is owned by M Bradley, M Corbett, A Goodwin and P Woods. 26 starts for 5-5-4. Came home strongly for second at Ruakaka on 18th June. Ran 5th on July 9th at Ruakaka carrying 60kg. Will be hard to beat.
Rocknrolla from barrier 7 will be ridden by Ulrika Holmquist. The 5 year old mare is owned by Donna Logan, Mark Treloar, Kim O'Riley, Len Reed, Tane Beckham, Nathan Pene, John Frew, Myra Langstone, Jan and Dave Mein, and Colin Thomson. 32 starts for 6-3-6 would be nice to repeat her wins at Ruakaka on 18th June and July 9th. Right in form and hard to beat. Yet another stable quinella chance.

Sees 2 starters from the stable. Candle In The Wind starts from barrier 2 ridden by Michael Coleman.. The 6 year old Darci Brahma mare is owned by VS Cronin, F Gianone, GS Racing Ltd, IR Gwyn, PD and PD Jeffereys, K Ozkan and AB Skelton. 27 starts for 7-2-2.Won well last start at Ruakaka on July 9th. Big weight here. Can win. Zafrenzy starts from barrier 1 and will be ridden by Kelly McCulloch.. The 5 year old Savabeel mare is owned by Mrs CA, MC, MK and TP Dravitzki, Mrs KM Megchelve, LE and TM Vincent . Has had 28 starts for 3-3-3 . Won at Ellerslie on 6th June and finished 2nd to Candle In The Wind on July 9th after coming from the rear at the 600m. 6kg weight difference makes Zafrenzy the hardest to beat. Another fantastic stable quinella chance.

Greencast starts from barrier 12 and will be ridden by Sam Spratt.. The 3 year old Iffraaj gelding is owned by Lena Ang and won his last start at Ruakaka on July 9th. 4 starts for 1-0-2. Don't see why he can't repeat.
Fiamette starts from barrier 2 and will be ridden by Zy Nor Azman.. The 5 year old Bel Danaro mare is owned by M Darroch, R Dickey, D Gordon, S Logan, J McCrea, and P Woods. 19 starts for 3-4-1 . Last start second at Ruakaka on 9th July, loves the track and fires at this time of the year.
Other locals Stoked Me and Charlie Pride have been working nicely.
Race 8 Harcourts High Tea At The Races R75 1400m $22500
Silencer starts from barrier 1 ridden by Zy Nor Azman. The 4 year old Falkirk gelding is owned by Kaskazi Group and has had 12 starts for 2-4-0. Won at Ruakaka on June 18th and ran 4th at Ruakaka on July 9th after being crowded and coming home late. Up to 1400m should be in first 3.
Cambridge starts from barrier 8 and will be ridden by Mark Hills. The 3 year old Tavistock gelding is owned by NZ Thoroughbred Holdings Ltd and has had 7 starts for 2-1-1. Won at Ruakaka on June 18th in stylish fashion and will be hard to beat here.
All Roads starts from barrier 5 ridden by Kelly McCulloch. The 4 year old Road To Rock gelding is owned by BF and Mrs F Broom, TW Cole, AA Fraser, DJ Gordon, JC McLeod, RW McDuff, DS and ML Shuker. Has had 9 starts for 2-1-0 and won his last start on July 9th at Ruakaka after over racing early and finishing strongly down the outside. Clearly hard to beat and the stable have a live chance to trifecta the last.
All in all much better draws than last meeting and a nice team . McKay's are bringing a strong team again and hopefully will have another successful meeting.
